CAP mill profile & Welcome announcement

Congratulations – the team at Hua Feng Textile do not need to send lab dips
Hua Feng Textile, located in Putian City in China, recently completed their first Color Accreditation at an excellent CAP level 4. With the level 4, the mill demonstrates their color competence to safely go straight-to-production as soon as the color is specified by their CAP retailer/brand customer.

After the on-site assessment, natific’s CAP auditor Claudia Dubler commented: “The personnel at Hua Feng demonstrated excellent experience and technical competence. The facilities were well equipped to meet the needs of their customer base. The mill had excellent control of the product flow and information using a system to track the status of production at all times. In the Quality Control assessment area, Hua Feng had good processes in place.”

The team at Hua Feng Textile are successfully working towards consistency in their color precision and accuracy, minimizing below illustrated gap:

We asked the management of Hua Feng Textile some questions to find out more about their progress.

How did you first hear about the CAP program and what were your initial thoughts?
Hua Feng Textile: We first heard about it from Under Armour (UA). We thought it could strengthen our partnership with UA and lower our production costs.

What do you see as the biggest advantages as a CAP member?
Hua Feng Textile: It lowers our production costs, speed up our color approval process and strengthen our internal color management. We already noticed time savings in the development of new color, only the logistics from Fujian to Hong Kong saves us 4 days.

Would it be beneficial if all of your brand or retail customers joined the CAP?
Hua Feng Textile: That would help. Process standardization is the future and it is a key to improve performance and strengthen partnership with the buyers. We could provide better service by lower costs and shorten production times also for our other clients.

Master Digital Standards (MDS/.qtx files) are used within the CAP program, does this make it simpler for your dye-house and if so in what way?
Hua Feng Textile: The Master Digital Standard data helps us in the production process by unifying the production standard along the production chain.

Are you planning for any improvements in the near future that you can reveal for us?
Hua Feng Textile: The new Reduction Clear (R/C) process gave us great ideas for continuous improvements and we are planning to have an automatic maxing and dispensing system for our dye-kitchen organization, handling and dissolving dyes and auxiliaries. We can’t give you too much details yet however we would be glad to update you after we run it for some time!

Thank you for sharing!
Hua Feng Textile: Thank you!

DID YOU KNOW? – ABOUT THE CAP PROGRAM

The CAP program was developed as a collaborative project between natific and retailers and has evolved to be the most comprehensive color accreditation program globally. The program is designed to evaluate the maturity and capability of a mill, determining if a mill will be able to produce any given color to a specific tolerance. It is intended to assess, educate and help mills move towards best practice through production analysis and expert recommendations. Once the on-site assessment is completed, a CAP level is assigned and the mill will have a list of required and recommended actions to be completed.

The ColorWarehouse is a system used within the CAP program. The system allows mills to analyze production data based on color, fabric and dyeing machine. ColorWarehouse provides mills, vendors and retailers/brands with insight into the mills daily total production, including the current CAP level.
